NEET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for candidates to appear for NEET 2023 are as follows:

  • Nationality: Only Indian citizens, NRI, OCI, Foreign Nationals, or PIO’s are eligible 
  • Age requirements: Candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the same on or before 31 December of the year of admission. No upper age limit is given.
  • Educational qualification: Candidates must have qualified their 10th / SSC examination and qualified or appeared for 12th / equivalent examination from recognized boards. 
  • Subjects in 12th / equivalent exam: Candidates must study Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology, and English as mandatory subjects in their 12th / equivalent exams. 
  • Qualifying exam percentage: An aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology required for General candidates—50%, General PwD—45%, SC, ST, OBC candidates 40% in their 12th or equivalent examination.

NEET Application Form 2023

Candidates can submit the application form through online mode available at the official website of NTA (https://examinationservices.nic.in/Neet2023/Registration/Instruction.aspx). Applications are allowed only through this website no applications in any other form are not accepted. Candidates should not submit any false or fabricated information in the application form. Any incomplete information and applications that are not in accordance with instructions will be rejected. Important points to consider while filling up the application form is:

  • Provide all relevant information asked for
  • Check twice prior to proceed with the submit option
  • Payment is non-refundable 
  • Payment is complete only after generation of the confirmation page 
  • Improper applications or ineligible candidates applications can be rejected at any time and their payments are non-refundable. 

NEET Application Process 2023

NEET UG 2023 application is a 3 step filling process, where the candidate needs to submit all relevant information asked for. Candidates can study the information bulletin available at NTA official website prior to submitting the application form.

Steps to follow for NEET 2023 Registration 

  1. Make registration first for NEET 2023
  2. Now fill the online application for the same
  3. Upload the required documents and images
  4. Make payment for the NEET 2023 application form fee
  5. Submit the application form and take a printout of it.

Required Documents to fill the NEET 2023 Form 

  1. Valid ID proof such as ration card, Aadhar card, passports, bank account passbooks, or any other government-issued ID.
  2. Documents related to the candidates such as their date of birth proof, permanent address proof, email account, mobile number, name, etc.
  3. Passport size images, left thumb impression and signature.

Neet Application process step 1: Registration Page

  • Log in to the official web page for registration https://ntaneet.nic.in/
  • Fill in the personal information like Candidate’s Name / Mother’s Name / Father’s Name as per the certificates, Date of Birth etc. 
  • Identification information to be provided, any one of the ID cards like, 12th admit card, school ID, Election Card, Ration card, Bank account passbook with photo proof, passport or any other ID issued by the government to be submitted in the given link.
  • Provide the mobile number which is in usage, ensure it will be of self, parents or guardians and working e-mail only. 
  • Provide complete postal address with PIN code in the space given.

Neet Application process Step 2: Application

  • Except the mobile no and email id’s other information submitted in step 1 can be changed or corrected.
  • Select the category that you belong in the given list of options/
  • Next step is to fill the nationality, PwBD status, chosen examination center, medium of question paper, academic details like 10, 11, and 12 standard information, should submit.
  • Submission of the candidate's photograph, signature, and thumb impressions in the prescribed format.
  • Next is to submit the proof of present and permanent address documents.

Neet Application process Step 3: Fee Payment

  • Candidates should remit the examination fee according to their category.
  • Payment can be made through Debit / Credit Card / Net-banking/UPI through State Bank of India / Canara Bank / HDFC Bank / ICICI Bank. 
  • Aside to the given amount there will be GST and service and processing charges per transaction to be paid as per the mode of payment and applicability. 
  • Candidates should carefully check the payment completed or not, in case any delays or cancellations occurred.
  • After the payment, a confirmation page will be generated with the final submission of the Application Form status. If this confirmation page is not generated it means the payment is pending and the candidate should cross-verify the transaction and resubmit the payments, else the application will not be completed.

Documents Required to fill the NEET 2023 Application Form

  • Valid ID proof with Photo identity issued by Government such as: Passport, Election ID, Aadhar Card, Ration Card, Bank account passbook with photo, Admit card of the college etc. 
  • Documents in proof relating to Date of Birth, permanent and present address, email account, mobile number, name, citizenship certificate (if applicable), PwBD certificate (if applicable) etc.
  • Scanned images of Passport size photograph, postcard size photograph, signature of the candidate, left and right hand fingers and thumb impression, in prescribed format.

NEET 2023 Points to Consider for Neet Aspirents

All NEET 2023 applicants should be aware of some important details during their application process:

  • A candidate can submit only one application.
  • Correction windows will be opened for certain specific fields so students should carefully fill the application form, so that there is no place for mistakes.
  • After payment confirmation only the application form is completed else, the form will be cancelled.
  • Candidates should retain the confirmation page in hard and soft copy for future purpose.
  • Deduction of fee from bank account doesn’t account for payment confirmation, unless the confirmation page generated it will not count as completed.

NEET Admit Card 2023

NEET UG 2023 Admit card issued to the candidates that are successfully fulfilled the eligibility conditions. Admit cards will be available in the official website of NTA https://neet.nta.nic.in/ for candidates to download and the date of availability announced later usually one to two weeks prior to the examination. No student will be allowed to enter the examination hall without Admit card issued by NTA. The details that NEET UG 2023 admit card contains are:

  • Name of the candidate
  • Name of the Father
  • Roll number 
  • Category of the candidate
  • Date of the examination
  • Time of the examination
  • Exam center details
  • Reporting time 
  • Photograph of the candidate

No changes can be made after the candidates receive the admit card. Admit cards can only be downloaded from the official website at the given schedule and the same should be saved and printed for future purposes by the candidates. Candidates whose applications are rejected will not be issued any admit card. These candidates can approach the Help Line between 10.00 am to 05.00 pm or write an email to NTA at neet@nta.ac.in.

NTA will release the NEET 2023 answer key on their official website. The NEET 2023 answer key will be available for all codes separately. The direct link to download the NEET answer key will be available on the official website i.e. neet.nta.ac.in. Also, the candidates can refer to this page to get the final NEET 2023 answer key. NEET 2023 answer key will be released with the NEET OMR sheets on the official website only. The candidates can cross-check their answers with the help of the NEET 2023 answer key. Also, NTA will provide the facility to challenge the answer key. If the candidates face any issues in the released provisional answer key then they can challenge it under the given time span. They can submit the challenge after paying the answer key challenge fees.

How to calculate the NEET score with help of Answer Key?

  • Download the respective NEET answer key.
  • Cross-check the marked answers with the answer available in the NEET 2023 answer key.
  • Now, calculate the total number of right and wrong responses.
  • Multiply the correct answer by 4 while the wrong answers by 1
  • Now, you will have to subtract the total marks of NEET from the maximum marks which are 720.
  • Calculate NEET 2023 score = (4 x number of correct answers) – (1 x number of incorrect answers)
