International Travel From India Guidelines For Students to Study Abroad

Need to travel abroad for higher studies; what is the procedure to receive the second dose sooner than the time prescribed:

According to the National guidelines of India, the second dose of the Covishield vaccine should be taken 12 – 16 weeks after the first dose while the second dose of Covaxin can be taken 4 – 6 weeks after the first dose.

As this is the period where students travel abroad for their higher studies, the Indian government has given special permission for students to receive their second dose after 4 weeks of receiving their first dose. This special permission will be granted only when students produce proper documents like their admission card, visa, flight ticket, etc. By showing these documents, under the special permission category, students can receive their second dose at the Municipality Health Centres.

The students who wish to travel abroad for their higher education can get their second dose earlier than the prescribed time only at the Municipality Health Centres. Please approach the officials with the necessary documents.
