Yonsei University‘s Exchange/Visiting Student Programs offer opportunities to students who plan to study for a year or a semester in Korea’s top university located in the heart of Seoul, the dynamic capital city of Korea.

Yonsei University is a private research university located in Seoul, South Korea. It is one of Korea’s three “SKY” universities, considered the most prestigious universities in the country, with the other members being Seoul National University and Korea University. The student body consists of 38,725 students: 26,731 undergraduate students, 11,994 graduate students, 4,518 faculty members, 6,788 staff, and 257,931 alumni.

Entry Requirement:

A high school diploma or the equivalent is the minimum requirement for admission to all KLI Korean language programs

Required documents

(1) A completed application form (After registering on the homepage, submit an online application form)

(2) A photocopy of the student’s passport (A photocopy of the Alien Registration Card, if you have)

(3) A copy of the student’s transcript or diploma from the last school attended

(4) For those who wish to obtain a visa(D-4) documents from KLI, a copy of Financial document is mandatory(certificate of

deposit balance over $9,000 (USD) or certificate of remittance or exchange). In case of using parents’ financial statement,

a copy of Family Relationship Certificate or Birth Certificate is required.

(5) All students who have been accepted to our Regular Program must submit a proof of health insurance.

Students may submit either one below. Submission should be completed before the class starts. If you do not submit the

insurance proof, your entrance may be canceled.

  1. a) Health insurance from your home country which is valid in Korea for insurance claim
  2. b) Traveler’s insurance
  3. c) Health insurance for foreign students in Korea

(6) 1 ID card photo (color, 3.5cm*4.5cm): Online [MY PAGE] → [Photo Management] Upload Photo

(7) Essay : Free Form. The reason why you want to learn Korean, what do you want to experience and so on.

This course is introduced to accomodate the needs for diversity, specialization and individuality in the 21 st century. By replacing the previous stereotyped courses with this newly designed course, Yonsei University College of Medicine seeks to develop the potentiality and interest of students, to expand their horizons and promote better understanding of society as doctors and to help them determine their future specialties. This course runs 8 weeks and is composed of Clinical Science Track, Basic Science Track and Outside & Overseas Experience Track.

The purpose of Clinical Science and Basic Sciense Track is as follows:
By actively participating in their preceptor research and clinical activities and engaging in academic discussions with the preceptor, the student will acquire basic knowledge on the fundamentals of clinical research as well as basic science research.

The purpose of Outside & Overseas Experience Track is as follows:
By participating in research and patient care at other specialized medical institutions in Korea or overseas, the students will have the opportunity to expand their horizons and develop their potentialities.
