Neet Exam Eligibility Criteria 2021

NTA has released its public notice on 13th July 2021 allowing the students to apply for NEET-2021 entrance examination. The submission of applications started at 5.00 P.M on the day of the announcement. The contentment of clarity on the NEET-2021 examination commencing diminished with the surprise new changes that had been brought out by NTA. Here are the details of enlistment of NEET-2021:

Set – I contains/need to submit Details that the candidates that needed to be filed on or before the last date of the submission of the application forms
Set –II contains/needs to submit Candidates need to fill this set of information before the declaration of the result or at the time of downloading the scorecard

Total marks allocated for each question 4 marks for every correct answer
Negative marks allotted for each question 1 mark minus for every wrong answer

Minimum Age limit 17 years 
Highest Age limit 25 years
Provisional permission on Age limit Provisionally all age groups are allowed to apply and enroll till the date of the pending decision
Who can apply Indian citizens / NRI’s / OCI’s 
NEET qualification mandatory Indian citizens / Overseas Citizens of India intending to study in Indian Medical colleges or in Abroad Medical colleges
Qualification for enrollment  Passed / results of  12th standard awaiting 
Subjects in 11 & 12th mandatorily studied for eligibility English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology passed as per the qualifying marks
Do open school candidates eligible Yes, candidates that have completed their 10+2 open school are eligible
Candidates that have studied Biology as an additional subject eligible? Yes, candidates that have studied Biology as an additional subject are also eligible to apply
Eligible under Code: 03

Intermediate / pre-degree examination in science of an Indian university/board or other recognized bodies of examination with above said subjects and also in Biotechnology with practical tests

Eligible under Code: 04 Candidates qualified the pre-professional / pre-medical examination with PCB/ Biotechnology and English as subjects
Eligible under  Code: 05 First-year  of 3 years Degree Course from any recognized University with PCB/BT with English
Eligible under Code: 06 B.Sc at any Indian University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany/Zoology) / Biotechnology and English
Eligible under Code: 07 Any other similar examination that comes under the similar scope and standard of  10+2 format
The percentage should obtain in the subjects by the General candidates 50% in PCB/Biotechnology
Percentage to be obtained by the SC/ST/OBC/PWBD  40% in PCB/Biotechnology
  • Any candidate that has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or before 31 December of the year of their admission into the UG Medical course.
  • Any candidate applying for the examination should be born on or before 31.12.2004
  • The upper age limit for the examination is of 25 years for general category candidates and 30 years for SC/ST/OBC-NCL and PwBD candidates 
  • The upper limit of the age of the candidates has been relaxed and all age candidates can appear for the examination on a provisional basis in lieu of the pending WRIT PETITION on the same at the Hon’ble Delhi High Court.
  • Indian citizens / Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) intending to pursue UG in any foreign Medical / Dental institutes should also qualify NEET-UG according to their reservation category.

New Pattern Change of NEET-2021

All the candidates by now have been aware of the additional questions that have been included in the NEET-UG examination. Every subject has been divided into two sections, i.e., section A and Section B. Section A carries 35 questions and Section B contains 15 questions. Students can choose any 10 to write from the given 15 from Section B as per their choice. The total time duration has not changed and the number of questions to answer is also not changed in any way.

Important points to remember:

  • Every candidate can opt for his preferred language for the NEET-2021 examination among the 13 languages available
  • Not all the centers have the facility to write in every language, hence the candidates carefully check the availability of the language in your nearby examination centers
  • During the application form filling, every candidate should mandatorily opt for the language 
  • The test booklet of the examination will be provided in the language opted aside to English facilitating the candidates
  • Candidates should carefully select 4 opted convenient cities for exam centers from the list of given cities
  • NTA will take the final authority to select/delete the cities from the given list for the final examination list subject to the option of a number of candidates
  • NTA also reserves the right to allot the centers in the opting cities by the candidates
  • Any disputes relating to the NEET-2021 examinations can be resolved as per the jurisdictional limits
